Forty-six economic development organizations employing 1,772 people operate in Alaska. These include eight Alaska Native nonprofits, nine Alaska Regional Development Organizations (ARDORS), the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA), the Alaska Development Corporation (ADC), and many others.
